Positive: The location is a great base for exploring the southern part of the Black Forest, and it's also not far to Switzerland - Zurich and Basel are both just a short drive away if you want a change of scene.

Negative: There was quite a lot of dog hair from previous holidaymakers around the property, which probably doesn't bother you too much if you have your own dog, but it's not great if you don't. Also, the noise-proofing is not great, so if you had somebody staying in the appartment above you, you can hear them wandering around which is enough to wake you up or stop you falling asleep. Other guests would either smoke on balconies below you, or smoke right outside the door, which meant if you had your windows open (and it's VERY hot in summer, so you do need them open!), your apartment would be filled with smoke, which is not great.

Summary: A great base for exploring the Black Forest and the lakes, in a well-equipped, spacious property
