Positive: Just a wonderful experience staying with Steffi (owner) and her team! She is super friendly and will go out of her way to cater to all your requests. The room was very comfortable and ultra clean. Love that it is an authentic Schwarzwaelder Landhotel, with lots of rustic, country charm. The village of Altglashutten is like out of a fairy tale. There are a couple of more luxurious hotels in the village which also deliver a true Black Forest experience, but I crave the rustic authenticity I found at Hotel Waldeck. There are exceptional hiking and mountain biking possibilities all around that you can access from the hotel's door. I just love this part of Germany, especially since the people working in these little jems of places are super nice and welcoming. And the piece-de-resistance: Florian 'S Restaurant is a near Michelin-level quasi-fine dining experience in my mind. While the theme of the menu is German country cooking, it is delivered with haute cuisine flair. And it's super tasty with unique variations on flavour that are sometimes quite unexpected (e.g. venison ragout with wild berry glace reduction: delicious!). All this under one roof! I will be back again for sure!

Negative: Not a thing. Perfect in it's own way.
